Adam J. Couts, OD
Dr. Adam Couts earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Indiana University and his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. He enjoys caring for patients across the age spectrum and provides medical management for a variety of eye conditions, including diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, allergies, and conjunctivitis. His clinical services also include urgent management of problems such as corneal abrasions and foreign-body removal. The consultative model supports continuity of care by coordinating diagnosis, treatment recommendations, perioperative management, and follow-up with the patient’s broader eye care team. This approach allows complex ocular findings to be evaluated in a specialty setting while maintaining close communication with referring optometrists and ophthalmologists. Patient education is an important part of care, with emphasis on explaining findings, treatment options, expected follow-up, and signs that warrant additional evaluation. Clinical management is tailored to the individual patient, taking into account ocular findings, symptoms, medical history, and the need for ongoing specialty care.
