Christopher J. Haggerty, MD
Dr. Christopher Haggerty is a board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery. He graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering and earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, where he served as student chairman of the Student Academic Advisory Committee. After a general medicine internship at West Virginia University, he completed ophthalmology residency training at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Haggerty then completed a dual fellowship in oculoplastic surgery and neuro-ophthalmology at Allegheny General Hospital, followed by two additional years of highly competitive ASOPRS fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery at Duke University. His clinical expertise includes eyelid, orbital, and nasolacrimal surgery; eyelid and periorbital lesions; orbital tumors; and non-surgical cosmetic and functional treatments such as Botox®. His oculoplastic practice addresses both functional and reconstructive concerns involving the eyelids, orbit, tear drainage system, and surrounding facial structures. Treatment plans are developed with attention to ocular protection, comfort, visual function, facial symmetry, and the specific anatomy involved.
