Hanan Mdeway, OD (MD Egypt)

Dr. Hanan Mdeway is an optometrist at Hanover Family Eyecare in Mechanicsville, VA, bringing together medical and optometric training to provide compassionate, comprehensive vision care. She graduated from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, earning a Master’s in Medicine and Surgery, followed by internship training and ophthalmology residency experience at Giza Eye Hospital and Giza Memorial Eye Institute for Ophthalmic Research. She later achieved the Egyptian Fellowship of Ophthalmology and practiced for nearly a decade as a general ophthalmologist and specialist. After relocating to the United States, Dr. Mdeway earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Her clinical interests include ocular disease management, glaucoma care, surgical co-management, and contact lenses. Patients appreciate her attentive, approachable, and individualized care.
