John S. Kim, MD
Dr. John Kim is an experienced glaucoma specialist and cataract surgeon who provides both medical and surgical management of glaucoma. His surgical expertise includes glaucoma tube shunts, ExPress shunt procedures, trabeculectomy, iStent, and canaloplasty. He also performs small-incision cataract surgery using phacoemulsification. Dr. Kim is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and has cared for patients with SouthEast Eye Specialists since 2015. He works with patients to balance effective pressure control with an individualized plan that reflects the stage of glaucoma and overall ocular health. Ongoing follow-up is an important part of glaucoma care, allowing treatment to be adjusted as pressure measurements and structural or functional testing change. His care emphasizes thorough evaluation, clear patient education, and treatment planning tailored to the individual’s ocular findings and visual needs. He works to provide coordinated care from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up, with attention to both immediate concerns and long-term eye health.
