Johnnie R. “J.R” Nobles, OD

Dr. Johnnie R. “J.R.” Nobles, Jr. is a consultative optometrist who specializes in diagnosing and managing complex eye disease and providing pre-operative and post-operative care for a wide range of ophthalmic procedures. He works closely with ophthalmologists and surgical teams to support coordinated evaluation, treatment planning, and follow-up care. Dr. Nobles earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, where he graduated with academic honors and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. His undergraduate studies included biomedical science and biology at Auburn University and UAB. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and Alabama Optometric Association. He works to provide coordinated care from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up, with attention to both immediate concerns and long-term eye health. As a consultative optometrist, this role includes detailed evaluation, medical eye care, surgical co-management, and communication with referring providers when specialty treatment is needed.
