L. Dale Brown, MD
Dr. Dale Brown is a fellowship-trained, board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. His clinical and research interests include retinal and vitreous disorders, and his work on treatment of retinal microaneurysms has been presented at the national Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting. Dr. Brown completed vitreoretinal fellowship training with the Vitreoretinal Foundation in Memphis after an ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland. He earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology, and Medical Association of the State of Alabama. An Alabama native, Dr. Brown and his family are actively involved in their church. He works with patients whose retinal conditions may require observation, office-based treatment, surgery, or a combination of approaches over time. This specialty requires close attention to changes in the macula, retina, and vitreous so treatment can be adapted as a patient’s condition evolves.
