Paul Batson, OD
Dr. Paul Batson specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex ocular disease and in pre- and post-operative care for a broad range of ophthalmic procedures. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Samford University and his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, where he was elected to the Phi Kappa Alpha Honor Society. In addition to his clinical and operational leadership roles with SEES Group, Dr. Batson serves on the UAB School of Optometry faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Ocular Disease Clinic and as the clinic’s residency supervisor. He lectures on cataract and refractive surgery, ocular disease, and related topics. Dr. Batson is a past president of the Alabama Optometric Association and previously chaired its Continuing Education Committee. His professional recognition includes Alabama Young Optometrist of the Year in 2003 and Alabama Optometrist of the Year in 2015. He has also participated in medical mission work in the Philippines, Africa, and Haiti and has supported orphan-care initiatives through Altar84.
