Reed B. Parker, OD, FAAO

Dr. Reed Parker is a consultative optometrist specializing in surgical co-management and the diagnosis and treatment of complex ocular disease. His experience includes cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery co-management, from pre-operative evaluation and candidate selection through postoperative follow-up. He also manages glaucoma, posterior segment disease, and other ocular conditions and performs select minor procedures. Dr. Parker earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry and completed residency training in ocular disease and refractive surgery, including advanced surgical co-management and anterior segment laser procedures. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, belongs to the American Optometric Association and Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, and has been recognized as Tennessee’s Young Optometrist of the Year. Because corneal conditions can affect both comfort and vision, his care emphasizes accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and long-term monitoring when needed. His glaucoma care emphasizes early detection, careful monitoring of optic nerve health, and treatment designed to reduce the risk of progressive vision loss.
