Stephen E. Solomon, DO
Dr. Stephen Solomon is an experienced neuro-ophthalmologist specializing in disorders that affect the relationship between the eyes, brain, and nervous system. With more than 40 years in ophthalmology, his background includes neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, and neuroradiology, with clinical interests such as multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, optic nerve disease, and neurologically related visual problems. Dr. Solomon earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed an internship at Massapequa General Hospital in New York, and trained in ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He later completed fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, and neuroradiology at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Solomon has also participated in research and served as a principal investigator in NIH-supported clinical trials. Treatment and follow-up are individualized according to the underlying neurologic or ophthalmic diagnosis and may involve collaboration with other medical specialists. A major focus of care is helping patients understand how neurologic disease can affect vision and what monitoring or treatment is appropriate over time.
