Timothy M. Stout, MD

Dr. Timothy Stout is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon with more than two decades of experience in ophthalmology and retina care. At SouthEast Eye Specialists, his practice focuses on medical retina, including evaluation and management of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other retinal disease, along with select general ophthalmology services. He works closely with referring optometrists and other providers to coordinate evaluation, treatment, and follow-up. Dr. Stout completed a vitreoretinal fellowship at Retina and Vitreous Associates of Kentucky after ophthalmology residency training at the University of Kansas, where he served as Chief Resident. He earned both his undergraduate degree in biology and medical degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and completed his internship there as well. During residency, he received the Alan W. Riley, M.D. Memorial Award as Resident of the Year. He is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and American Academy of Ophthalmology.
