Trenton Cleghern, OD
Dr. Trenton Cleghern focuses on diagnosing and treating complex ocular disease, with particular interests in anterior segment conditions, uveitis, glaucoma, keratoconus, and neuro-ophthalmic disorders. He also provides pre-operative and post-operative management for a wide range of surgical procedures. Dr. Cleghern graduated cum laude from Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned his Doctor of Optometry from the UAB School of Optometry, where he served as an academic tutor and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. He later completed an ocular disease residency at VisionAmerica in Birmingham. Dr. Cleghern has presented clinical work at the Academy of Optometry, lectures on continuing education topics, and has participated in mission trips to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica. A major focus of care is helping patients understand how neurologic disease can affect vision and what monitoring or treatment is appropriate over time. His care emphasizes thorough evaluation, clear patient education, and treatment planning tailored to the individual’s ocular findings and visual needs.
